I am ONE!

I have the best birthday! I just want to tell you all about it! I decided that now that I am ONE I should go and take a walk outside- so I geared up, grabbed my wheelie bug and OUT we went. We made it to the end of the block and then I turned around and went all of the way back--- well almost- I started to slip down a driveway into the street but Grandma Mooze saved me.

My mom made cupcakes (again!) and I got to have one- This time they said Petey one them and there were little farm animals- just like my favorite book!
AND

A whole bunch of my friends came over for cake! Oscar, Finn, Brennan and Caleb were all here- yup that's right 5 boys under 4 years old- NO GIRLS ALLOWED at my parties! We played with my toys, drank milk, ate cake and went sliding. It was so much fun!

The next day I was so exhausted, 2 days with Grandma, a party and all of that walking will wear a guy out- I was so happy to find my clean lovies drying on the drying rack- I tipped it over and played with them all day. Mom says that they are for the crib- I say they are for all of the time!

Mom also took these pictures of me with my bear- Maybe we are done now that I am ONE? Big boys don't play with teddy bears (I do, but I don't want my friends to know) so hopefully she'll stop. I can tell you this: I'm not smiling anymore in these pictures!

Thanks for such a fun birthday everyone!

Love, Petey XXXXX

Happy 51 weeks Pete

We were up in the cities last weekend for the City of Lakes Loppet and we also celebrated Petey's birthday with Garrick's family. We had spaghetti, cake and lots of fun! It was so much fun to see everyone- Peter made his rounds and showed off his moves walking all over the place.

He made some pretty friends...

Also, we went to the race- actually two races- On Saturday we went to the skijouring race- that is a skier and dog attached and skiing together... WOW! That's all that I can say about that- it was so funny- some dgos totally knew what to do and the others- had no idea. Where did Scout fall in that? He was into it majorly for 2/3 of the race, but then he ran out of gas...  This is the starting line. Here is a video that some guy took during the race. http://vimeo.com/9260542
Garrick had a great race the next day also- he got into the 2nd wave and skied really strong with a great group of guys- and a girl the whole way- Good for her- He was just about in the top 100 which he was really happy with.
He also got a new ski suit from the nice people at SMU- they were clearing out all of the old gear so we have a bunch of it laying around- let me know if you are racing these days and are interested- I may be able to hook you up with at least 1/2 of a suit!

February Already?

It's hard to believe that one year ago I was like- oh I have another month... NOPE! We have had such a great start to our year.... We are just hoping it continues.
SMU had their ski race this weekend, I didn't do it- I just wanted to watch Garrick ski- I'll go some races later in the winter- I know that I am running out of time though!
Bundled up watching the race.
After he finished- 6th place!- we went for a quick ski with my parents on the trails which was super fun as well!
Peter was just happy to get out of the chariot and be home playing with his toys.
We had noodles for dinner last night- He had so  much fun playing with them, eating a few of them and getting them all over the place! Note to self: spirals and elbows are MUCH easier for him to eat!
His latest thing is to pull everything that he can off of the drying rack. He stands and laughs while he is doing it- when I go over to put it back up, he crawls over as fast as he can and hides behind the rack. what a naughty little munch!

First week at home

We survived our first week at home! Pete went to day care for 4 days and stayed with me on Friday, it went really well and I am planning on keeping him with me next week on Thursday adn Friday which will be really fun! He is mimicking noises like crazy which is cute and fun- he can make sounds like "up", "ball", "dog", "mam" "dad" "ooo" "eeek" Oh, well he does that one on his own. He loves to also play with the shades in our rooms lifting them to see outside and then puts them down.

Work was hard to start- things weren't working on computers and I didn't know how to do things, but life is slowly getting sorted out and I am ready to start to spend time working on getting to know the students and explaining concepts to them. I am not ready yet to say if I like the job or not for now.

I am working tonight at the restaurant, Garrick is doing another ski race this weekend and my parents are hopefully going to visit as well- It's been a few weeks since they have seen the munch. Hope you all are staying warm and enjoying the snow!

Stuffed Animals

Pete is so into stuffed animals this week- I find him in his crib playing with the lovies in the morning, he loves to roll around with them on the floor and he and Finn were fighting over a stuffed Poodle tonight...

We tried to take a picture with the bear, but this was the best one I could get. Seriously.

He loves to play with his farm puzzle, flipping open the doors, finding the animals, he loves when you make the noises for him and then of course chewing on the pieces.

Reading books

Anyone who has spent time at our house knows about Peter and his relationship with this book. I've blogged about it and now you all can experience it. I only wish I had started the video when he first grabbed the book to start reading- He squeals when he sees it and brings it to whoever is around... What a little munch!

Pete and I have had such a nice weekend at home! Garrick was away racing so we just got to hang out, CLEAN, read books and play. I feel like we have gotten a lot accomplished so far and that we had some fun too!

In other big news, I am starting a new job this week. I am going to be working from home, teaching online! It was a long and hard decision to leave Bluffview, but I think that I eventually made the right one. I know that I am going to miss the kids, their families and my co-workers a lot, but I will be able to spend so much more time with Pete... I think that it will come out to my advantage! So that means that Petey will still be doing some day care during the week, but not as much. We are going to keep it the same for now so that I can figure it out, but we will most likely be going to 2 or 3 days a week depending on our schedule. I am so lucky to have Susan and have her be SO flexible with our crazy lives!

SO- That has been the big deal for the week, I am going to be super busy this week tying things up and starting over, but I know that I'll be able to do it and am looking forward to what is to come even though it is going to be very different.

One more time

Back by popular demand- I mean Grandma Mooze's demand- we have another take of Petey walking. Tonight he decided that pizza was more desireable than dad and made a detour for that instead!

Slip sliding away.

We don't know how he learned to do this, but Petey now turns around and goes down teh slide on hus tummy- most of the time- Sometimes he goes down sideways or face first- he also knows how to go down stairs backwards- which I know he learned at Susan's house. What a big boy!
