A fun morning at the park

I had a couple of days off of teaching online so my mom came to Winona to play with us and keep me company. Once it warmed up in the morning, we headed off to the big Lake Park- Pete rode his bike all of the way there from our house.
We swang and climbed and slid until we couldn't anymore!!

I have a really sweet picture of Emelia in the flowering trees from last year adn thought I'd try again this year. I had forgotten that Pete had wiggled his way in last year as well, but this year he told me that he wanted to "be a bird too" and to stick him up in the tree.

He also spent some time chasing after some ducks!
And then we played up on the bandshell for a while as well. One of our Favorites!!
 Biking home for some lunch!!

Happy Spring

Spring is officially here! It has been warm some days, rainy some others and HOT some other days. There were a streak of days in March that were all over 80*! We have been living outside, playing in the sandbox, riding bikes and just having fun. Jack came to visit us overnight. We had the best time.
I had heard that the chapel at SMU had been redone so I wanted to pop in quick on my own to take a look- nope instead the whole crew came in and the boys even picked out a seat!!
 Here it is-- looks nice!!
 Emi enjoying my tulips.

Searching our the easter eggs at Grandma Linka's house! Pete just loved it all, but Emi was content to pick up one at a time and follow Peter around the yard.

Emelia's little photo shoot

Last weekend it was the perfect day to be outside- not super sunny but nice and warm- Emi had a little photoshoot with her friend Sophie the Giraffe.

She has many looks...

It's not a fire...

It's flowers! We used to read lots of books when I was a kid that were made of 20 words or less when I was learning to read and one of the books was about the forest animals being all worried about a fire coming but when they got to it it was a beautiful field of flowers...

The week of picture taking with flowers started at our house- some pictures turned out pretty well- I love the one of Emi playing with the grass- she loves to roll around in it and feel its texture. I wish I had tried one more time, but now the tulips are past their prime so tomorrow might be the last shot for some so-so pictures.
Some pictures didn't turn out quite as well.
Pete helped me do some yard work and get new grass planted (not a flower but the same idea- in the last week it has started to grow which makes me almost as happy as my flowers do).
We went to the park by the lake and also took advantage of the flowering trees and stuck Emelia up in one for a little picture shoot.

Pete of course informed me that it was "pete's toorn" so up into the tree he went and this is what I got before he tried to jump from his 4 foot perch.
And then we even got one of dad and his two kids that was okay except for the shadows. We sure do love our little family!

TipToe through the Tulips

I love love love summer, but since I spend every fall planting tons of bulbs spring has started to become really fun for me also! Here are a few pictures of the flowers and of course the little munch in them!

Growing...

Here is Peter with his bear-

AND

Here is what I find lots of mornings when I go in to wake him up:

He rolls all over his crib during the night. When he goes to bed he immediately finds his lovey- a little soft blankie with an elephant head- and pops his thumb in his mouth and rolls on his side and goes to sleep. We call him Linus.

We also got another set of pictures taken at Sears-I can't rotate them... sorry!
