9 months

Pete was 9 months last week- we went to see Christina- our nurse practitioner and here is his status:

Still little, 16 lbs (3%), 28 inches (25%) and his head was just under the 50%, but he is crawling, babbling, and learning new things everyday. He has 4 teeth and sleeps 12 hours at night and then takes 2  one hour + naps a day.

He loves to eat (fruits, cottage cheese, yogurt, cheese ravioli, avacado, veggies) and drinks out of his tippy cup very well. We still nurse, but only 4 times a day typically, we still both love it! He loves walk with a push toy (or the laundry basket) and have us chase him, climb up the stairs, take baths, read books (especially the peekaboo books- we have one that is starting to fall apart) and is learning to open the kitchen cabinets and play in the dishwasher. He can stand and stoop down to pick soemthing up if he's holding onto something. He will walk if you hold both of his hands, but not if you let go of one of his hands. He somtimes will "share" his toys when we ask him for something and understands what 'come here' and 'no' and 'give me a kiss' mean. He loves Scout and especially Pumpkin and Susan's cats Marco and Polo.

We got to spend one last weekend outside it was so nice and warm! We loaded up the bikes and Petey's trailer and went to the Root River bike trail for a ride- we didn't go too far, but it was a nice ride- BP slept the entire ride. We didn't go too far because we didn't have any blaze orange on, and it seemed like everyone else on the trail did- we missed the memo. Pete was safe in his bright green bubble though!
Pete has really really gotten excited about bath time. He stands and watches the tub fill up, squealing the entire time. Once he's in the tub, he crawls all over, splashes and plays with his toys the whole time. His round little belly is funny- he just got done eating a HUGE dinner!
We have also started in on one last outside project for the year- building a real fence for our yard. We put in patio doors last year so it is going to be so nice to let Scout out into the yard and for himt o have the WHOLE thing to play in!
Here are the posts put in and the neighbor's chainlink fence extended to where we wanted it.
And the fence starting to be assembled in the basement. It is going to be so nice- we wanted to be able to see back into the yard so this is going to be perfect! Hopefully we can get a lot of up this weekend.
We hope you all have a great Thanksgiving. We know we have so much to be thankful for this year!

Hat Weather

I have started to knit again now that I have the time and that it is getting to be that time of the year! I made a little tiny hat for my friend's new baby girl... This is BP modeling it, but it fit her better.

And then our little man got a new hat too! I would do a few things differently the next time, but for the most part, I'm happy with how it turned out.

Peter is becoming so much more sure of himself standing and creeping along furniture. He loves to push the laundry basket around the kitchen

and is learning how to stoop down to pick things up while standing. He falls more often than he picks up what he is going for, but it is a good exercise for his little quads!

The other thing that he now loves to play with is the dishwasher. Anytme it is open, he crawls over, pulls himself up on it and slides the racks back and forth. He also sometimes decides that he needs a bath.

We are starting to build a fence around our yard... I'll put pictures up next time but it is going to be so nice now that we have the patio doors so Scout will be able to be let out and be safe. We used to have to walk back to the fenced in part of teh yard. When we first got scoot we were roofing and painting and didn't want him right by the house so he didn't get into things. Our yard looks so big now that it isn't split in half! Garrick also has started to build some of the last cabinets for the kitchen so the fridge will be blocked in. Pictures of this will also be up next time... Lots is starting to happen! We are looking forward to Thanksgiving to have some time off and to finish up some of these things.

1/4 of the way done!

Report cards are due this week.... that means that I am 1/4 of the way done with the school year. It has really gone by pretty fast and lucky for me, Pete really seems like love going to Susan'sn house for his afternoons. He gives her kisses, gets to play and eat there.. could life get any better?

This is maybe why time is going so fast- we have had the busiest week ever!

First: Kim came to Winona to do the volunteer fair for Maggie's Place and Pete helped her recruit those college girls! While she was here, we played Monopoly, went for some hikes and walks and just had fun playing.

Then I worked 2 nights in a row and then we had a fun visit from Grandma and Grandpa! We went to SMU and played in the apple trees.

I climbed one to get some apples out and
Scout followed me up!

Pete showed him tummy and other skills off.

And then we spent time outside playing on his little playset. He had so much fun exploring all of the different areas and was even trying to climb up onto the platform... he isn't quite big enough yet though!

Hey- get me outta here!

Nevermind- I got it!

Whoa!!!

This is more fun to go down head first.

Pete just had the best time crawling in and out and up and down his play cube. We are going to set it up inside for him to crawl on all winter long. We decided that it was worth the space for him to have something fun to play on and get some energy used up!

BOO!

Happy Halloween! We did a costumed 5K in the morning- I was a cat, Pete a rate (is his jogger) and Garrick was a running cowboy. Pretty fun- it was very low key and mostly college students, but still a good time! Then we went to a few friend's houses to trick or treat and then to Chris and Lindsey's for their party!

The best costume there was one of their friends who dressed up with her daughter like they were kayaking... AMAZING.

Here are a few of Pete as the rat. He was so cute. He's starting to growl all of the time so he was a growling rat.

We took Pete out last week to take pictures in the leaves. Its lucky we did it when we did, because all of the leaves are now falling off of the trees. He wasn't feeling the best when we did it, but we still got some cute shots.
